Finally, A Clear View of Your Wealth, at Beacon Hill Private Wealth
Our View — Tom Geoghegan, CFP® MBA founded Beacon Hill Private Wealth as a forward-thinking, independent Registered Investment Advisory firm, replacing the usual Wall Street hype with high-touch wealth management, retirement planning and evidence-based investing. A highly experienced former Wall Street executive, Tom advised those considered to be top advisors in the industry, and recognized that clients are demanding and deserve a model that better meets their needs — a model that starts with placing client interests first.
Why Beacon Hill Private Wealth? Beacon Hill Private Wealth was designed to deliver what our clients need — a clear view of their wealth, a dynamic planning process that adapts to changes in life circumstances and clear, evidence-based, smart investing. What can you expect from the experience? It’s like having your own private family office.
The Name — During the Revolutionary War, Summit, New Jersey was known as “Beacon Hill”, as bonfire beacons were lit on an eastern ridge to warn George Washington’s Continental Army of approaching British troops. Summit is where founder Tom Geoghegan chose to establish roots for his family and he remains proud of this community, now the chosen location of Beacon Hill Private Wealth. A place where he can regularly connect with local clients while accessing New York and beyond.
Meet Tom Geoghegan, CFP® MBA
Tom’s passion as the Founder of Beacon Hill Private Wealth is grounded in over 20 years of experience at top firms in the financial services industry and based on his passion for helping others see their own goals more clearly, and then implementing a common sense strategy that helps them attain those goals in the most tax efficient and cost effective way.
Tom brings a twenty-year track record as an accomplished wealth management and private banking executive with leadership positions in strategy, client experience and the development and deployment of investment management and banking products. During those years he provided solutions to meet the needs of high net worth clients and trained those considered to be elite advisory teams on how to best serve these clients. Tom ultimately came to the conclusion that an independent firm with a planning-first model and an evidence-based investment approach was better suited for clients. He decided to build a firm that would deliver just what he believed he and his family should expect and deserve from an advisory firm; now he is sharing that model with his clients.
Tom is a recent entrepreneur, but this is not the first time he has taken a leap to pursue his beliefs. He grew up in rural Ireland and headed to the United States Air Force Academy the day after secondary school graduation, with just an airline ticket in hand. He launched his career as a chemical engineer, quickly rising through the ranks and later deciding that he wanted to pursue a more dynamic career in finance.
Tom is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner with a Master of Business Administration from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. Tom built a distinguished career at large institutions, including Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and American Express. Beacon Hill Private Wealth is the capstone of that journey, where he can draw upon the best experiences he gained across these previous roles.
When he is not serving clients, Tom enjoys spending time with his wife, son and daughter, who can usually be found at an ice hockey rink or lacrosse field. Tom’s personal fitness regimen includes cross-fit and ultra-marathon trail running. He is active in his children’s schools and sports organizations and the local Summit community. > CLOSE BIO
